Win Tickets to see Shock Illusionist Dan Sperry

Dan Sperry, Shock Illusionist - IMAGE VIA

Given that you're reading this post, it's fair to assume that you enjoy reading about food. Another pretty safe guess: You share Gut Check's fondness for the endlessly entertaining intersection of food and weird.

Where do you stand when it comes to watching people doing unusual (and somewhat scary) things with food? (We're not talking Frank and Artemis dumpster-bangin' weird, just eating razor blade-filled cookies weird.)

Permit us to explain.

Meet Dan Sperry, self-proclaimed Shock illusionist. He has performed on America's Got Talent alongside other avant-garde acts like St. Louis native Clownvis, so obviously he's got talent, right? And although his work isn't food-centric, it involves food enough for us to justify giving away a pair of tickets to see Sperry's freaky magic show this Friday, March 11, at 10 p.m. at the Roberts Orpheum Theater.

You're welcome.

For a chance to win, post a comment that includes your e-mail address (in the comment field), your real name and your idea for a food-related magic trick. The idea with the most "likes" wins.

(In the event of a tie or utter lack of "likes," the winner will be chosen the scientific way: We'll read all responses aloud to our Calendar editor's dog and stop when she barks.)

Contest closes Thursday at 5 p.m., and the winner will be notified shortly thereafter. Winner must pick up their tickets at the RFT offices (6358 Delmar Blvd.) on Friday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
