Adam Altnether Opens Taste Tomorrow, March 11

The relocated and reimagined Taste -- formerly Taste by Niche -- will open at 5 p.m. tomorrow, March 11, at 4584 Laclede Avenue in the Central West End. Taste strongly encourages that you have a reservation (for any evening, not just the opening), which you can make at 314-361-1200.

Taste is the first restaurant for 24-year-old Adam Altnether. (Taste by Niche founder Gerard Craft remains an investor.) Mixologist extraordinaire Ted Kilgore remains behind the bar. My colleague Aimee Levitt attended a sneak preview of Taste's new food and drink menu last month. is extremely heavy on swine. Which is by no means a bad thing. There's candied bacon, bacon deviled eggs, pork fries (strips of pork breaded and fried), a pork burger and a particularly luscious cut of pork belly served over white beans. Not to mention the famed pigwiches: bacon crème sandwiched between two pig-shaped chocolate wafers.
Taste will be open 5 p.m.-1 a.m. daily. You can view the full food and drink menu at Taste's new website.
