Since reopening under new ownership in the fall of 2009, the Bevo Mill (4749 Gravois Road; 314-832-6776) has been known mostly as a special-event venue. Beginning this Friday, June 10, however, the public will be able to enjoy dinner and live music beneath the south city fixture's famous windmill.

The "Bevo Mill Friday Night Patio Dinner Series" will offer a different à-la-carte menu from owner Milan Manjencich each Friday through mid-October from 5 p.m. until, well, to quote the press release directly, "as long as the crowd remains."

Bevo Mill event and catering sales manager Colleen Duhart had just received the first menu when Gut Check reached her this morning: "He has salmon, tuna, some mussels, a pork chop, a pasta selection, prime rib and a vegetable goulash."

There will also be a selection of appetizers and a cash bar. (Fittingly, given the history of the Bevo Mill, Anheuser-Busch products will be featured.)

Duhart says that, for now, not only are reservations not necessary, the restaurant isn't taking them.
