The Tuscan Tavern & Grill opened last week at 5800 Southwest Avenue. This is the first restaurant for owner Perry Favazza, though he is no stranger to the industry. His Favazza Specialty Foods, based in Maryland Heights, provides appetizers to restaurants worldwide.

The address was the longtime home of Mr. B's Bar & Restaurant. Favazza undertook a complete renovation of the space before reopening.

"It's changed quite a bit," he says. "It's an Extreme Bar Makeover type of a thing."

The menu features many local Italian and Italian-American favorites as well as those Favazza appetizers, like toasted guacamole, a riff on crab rangoon. Also, the Tuscan has the house salad dressing beloved by Mr. B's fans.

The Tuscan Tavern & Grill is open for lunch Monday through Friday and for dinner Monday through Saturday. Call 314-932-1144 for more info.
