It's that time of year: Today, the Riverfront Times Best of St. Louis 2011 will hit newsstands around town. You'll probably hear and feel it before you see it. It's a huge issue, and when the stack hits the ground, it registers with the USGS.

You don't have to wait to pick up the dead-tree version to see who won this year's honors. All of the food, drink and restaurant winners are now available online. See who won such coveted annual honors as Best New Restaurant, Best Local Chef and Best Burger. And, yes, there will be surprises, perhaps even controversy -- including the end of a long run in Best Barbecue and the always contentious Best Pizza (Thin Crust).

The Best Of issue merely whets your appetite for what St. Louis has to offer? You're in luck. In the coming weeks, Gut Check will be featuring a weekly Top Five Best of St. Louis list to honor the winner and -- a new feature! -- the runners-up in many of your favorite categories.

Congrats to all the winners, and stay tuned for even more Best of St. Louis awesomeness.
