Saturday (Feb. 25):

Winter Farmers Market @ Schlafly Bottleworks Schlafly hosts its monthly winter farmers market featuring a list of vendors that might include 4 Seasons Baked Goods, Marcoot Jersey Creamery, Ozark Forest Mushroom and more. Free admission. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Spring Seed and Tool Swap @ Basement of the Word at Shaw Show up early at this seed swap to enjoy talks about canning processes, food preservation and basic bread making. Then, enjoy an exchange of seeds and tools to get that spring garden started. Participation is free with registration through Brown Paper Tickets. 12 to 3 p.m.

Perfect Your Palette @ Perennial Artisan Ales Enjoy art and a beer tasting at this local independent brewery. $35. 4 p.m.

Grand Tapping of the Fighting 65 @ Nick's Irish Pub Nick's Pub installs 36 new tap handles. For $20, get unlimited samples their "Fighting 65" drafts and meet some local brewmasters. 5 to 8 p.m.

Queen of Hearts Ball @ Lola Sex Positive St. Louis hosts a fundraiser featuring live entertainment and a buffet featuring desserts served in an *ahem* special way. Feeling adventurous? Admission is $20 per person. 7 p.m.

Sunday (Feb. 26):

Sugared, Spiced, Everything Iced @ Missouri Botanical Garden Prepare those peepers for plenty of eye candy during this decorative display of delicacies. The St. Louis Metropolitan Sugar Art Guild displays dozens of cakes, cupcakes and cookies utilizing elements such as gum paste flowers, piping gel and sugar glitter. The exhibit is included in garden admission, $8 for adults, $4 for St. Louis city and county residents, and free for children ages twelve and under. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

STLVegGirl presents Wake Up! It's Time for Breakfast @ Whole Foods Market - Galleria Learn how to make health-conscious versions of the day's most important meal including vegan eggs benedict, brussel sprouts and potato hash and orange julius. $25 per person. Register by calling 314-968-7744. 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Cake Pops: Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My! @ The Kitchen Conservatory Make the batter, form shapes, work with candy coating and decorate with sprinkles to create all kinds of cake pop creatures. $50 per person. Register online at the Kitchen Conservatory Web Site. 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Raging Chili Cook Off @ Time Out Bar & Grill The Raging Bulls amateur baseball team features St. Louis restaurants and home cooks in a chili cook off fundraising event. $50 grants patrons two beer wristbands and two tickets for chili tastings. 1 to 5 p.m.

Soup for the Soul @ The Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens Sample soups for more than 25 local restaurants. Proceeds go to benefit Grace Place Lutheran Wellness Ministries. Entry is $15 for adults, $5 for children and free for children under 5. 4 to 7 p.m.
