- Gut Check learned at the beginning of the month that JackSon's (6655 Manchester Avenue; 314-645-4904) had closed "for now." Sign on the restaurant's front and side doors suggested a grand reopening would occur.

At the time of that post, we tried to reach the restaurant by phone without success. Attempting to follow up yesterday afternoon, we heard a recorded message that the restaurant's phone number has been "temporarily" disconnected. (The "temporary" message is a first for us, actually.) Which suggests that the reopening isn't imminent. We'll let you know if anything changes as soon as we learn it.

- Also at the beginning of the month, we learned via St. Louis Magazine that Coyote's Ranch Grill & Saloon (4 Center Club Court, Edwardsville, Illinois; 618-659-9866) had closed temporarily after only a couple of months.

A post on the restaurant's Facebook page dated Thursday, June 14, states the restaurant will remain closed:

We would like to thank you for the patronage you gave during our time open. At this time the doors will remain closed.
