Ten Best Food Events This Weekend: August 3-5

Friday (Aug. 3):

Cherokee Street International Farmers' Market @ the intersection of Texas and Cherokee streets Peruse and purchase fresh, affordable produce right in the heart of the neighborhood. Admission is free. 4 to 7 p.m.

Happy Hour Fridays @ Yemanja Brasil Unwind from the week with 50% off appetizers and live music from Samba Bom. No cover. 5 to 7 p.m.

St. Louis Craft Beer Week @ various bars and breweries around town Craft Beer Week wraps up this weekend with a number of events including a Sour Tap Takeover at Hair of the Dog this Friday at 7:30 p.m. and the tapping of a cask of Baumann's Bacon Porter at Six Row Brewing Company on Saturday at noon. Washington Town and Country Fair @ Washington, MO Enjoy plenty of fair food like not so delicate fried items, corn dogs, cotton candy and turkey legs during this annual event. See the full menu as well as list of festivities at Event runs through Sunday, August 5.

Saturday (Aug. 4):

Serb Fest @ Four Seas Banquet Center Experience Serbian culture through food such as cevapcici (Serbian sausage), raznici (Serb-style shiskabob), lamb shanks, sarma (stuffed cabbage), cheese strudel and crepes. Admission is free. Saturday, August 4 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, August 5 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Feast Your Eyes: Chef Casey Vires of Home Wine Kitchen @ Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis Join chef Casey Vires of Home Wine Kitchen as she prepares a tasting using EarthDance Farms goods to coincide a tour of CAM's current exhibit. $5; limited to fifty. 12:30 p.m.

Mount Pleasant Estates' 2nd Gourmet Culinary Class Executive Chef Dana Liljequist hosts a gourmet cooking class. Learn to make a harvest salad, rye-stuffed pork loin and Tuscan risotto. Call 636-482-WINE for more information. $75. 2 p.m.

Sunday (Aug. 5):

Peach Festival @ Pere Marquette Lodge; Grafton, IL Get fuzzy with the season's fruits in the form of drinks, a pie eating contest, and plenty of family-friendly activities. Admission is free. 11 a.m to 3 p.m.

Over the Moon Cheesecakes and Annual Sale @ Kitchen Conservatory Join KC staff in constructing a variety of cheesecake flavors including deep dark chocolate, crustless dulce de leche and goat cheese with poached sour cherries. The class is $55 per person. Register online at the Kitchen Conservatry web site. While you're there, check out KC's annual sale, which means 20% off of all regularly priced merchandise, plus an extra 5% if you bring in a cookbook to trade in. The class runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Paint, Drink and Be Merry with Vino van Gogh Create your own painting at Nadoz while enjoying refreshments from McCormick & Schmick's. $38. 5 to 7 p.m.
