A Year Later, Delmonico's Diner Returns

Last December, Gut Check learned that soul-food institution Delmonico's Diner (4909 Delmar Boulevard) had closed temporarily. At the time, signage promised the restaurant would reopen under new management by February of this year.

February came and went. So did several more months. The restaurant remained closed.

Finally, though, almost a year later, Delmonico's has returned. New owner Jazmine Williams confirms that the restaurant is once again open for business.

The restaurant's phone number is now 314-367-3333.

Williams tells Gut Check the restaurant is open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. However, the hours posted on the restaurant's door note that it opens at 8 a.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday. If you're headed there early on either day, you might want to call first.

Also, for now, Delmonico's Diner is cash only.
