The Gumbo Shop (9501 Manchester Road, Rock Hill; 314-918-8747) has served the final po' boys and bowls of gumbo within its cozy confines at the corner of Manchester and McKnight roads. The restaurant must move to make way for -- wait for it -- keep waiting -- you've already guessed, haven't you? -- a CVS. Its final day was this past Saturday, March 23.

The restaurant posted news of the closure on its website and Facebook page.

Hey Guys!

So as you all know, our time at McKnight and Manchester has to come at an end :( It's a sad thought but it is time to move on. At least CVS says so.

Our last day there will be Saturday, the 23rd, so stop on by and say goodbye to our little home.

On a happier note... we [are] finalizing some decisions on a new location and we'll have some exciting news soon!

We've checked in with the Gumbo Shop for any additional information on the new location. More as we learn it.
