Gut Check first learned in March that a Vietnamese restaurant called Mi Linh would open at 9737 Manchester Road in Rock Hill. After a soft opening over this past weekend, Mi Linh is now officially open for business. The restaurant's regular hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Mi Linh has posted executive chef Nelson Tran's menu (link PDF) on its website. The menu showcases soups -- and not just the classic beef-noodle pho, though that is available. A page of the menu features a series of pork-based soups with egg noodles (mi), clear noodles (hu tieu) or rice noodles (hu tieu dai). The protein included in these soups ranges from barbecue pork to pork offal (heart, liver, intestines and kidney) to seafood. Also available, listed under the selection of "Chef's Specials," is another classic Vietnamese soup, bun bo hue.

Other selections on the menu include bun (vermicelli) and con tam (broken rice) dishes, stir-fried meats and numerous vegetarian options.

You can reach Mi Linh at 314-918-8868.
