Cary McDowell is leaving Winslow's Home (7213 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-725-7559) for a job as corporate executive chef at Euclid Hospitality Group, which owns Pi Pizzeria and Gringo, as first reported by St. Louis magazine. He's replacing Steven Caravelli, whose final day was last weekend.

McDowell has been executive chef at Winslow's Home since 2009, while Caravelli was with Euclid Hospitality for two years. He will be joining the team at The Tavern Kitchen & Bar (2961 Dougherty Ferry Road, Kirkwood; 636-825-0600) so that executive chef Justin Haifley can focus on opening a new venture, Cucina Pazzo.

Perhaps McDowell will have something to do with the reworked menu at Gringo -- after it garnered less-than-favorable reviews from our own Cheryl Baehr and others, we were told that the Mexican restaurant will be undergoing a much-needed overhaul.
