Taste (4584 Laclede Avenue; 314-361-1200) and Brasserie (4580 Laclede Avenue; 314-454-0600), two of Gerard Craft's restaurants, are both closed indefinitely due to a water main collapse behind the buildings. The lateral main collapsed into the sewer suddenly and has cut off water to both restaurants.

Taste general manager Jack Noecker tells Gut Check that a plumber came out and everything is clear as far as both of the restaurants, so it's the city's line that is the problem. He also said that people have been out working on it all yesterday and today, but there's no telling when it will be fixed. "We're hoping sooner rather than later," Noecker says. "We need good luck!"

UPDATE: Both restaurants still have a voicemail saying they are closed due to emergency repair work, but Tuesday morning Craft tweeted again that Taste and Brasserie would reopen tonight.
