Gut Check would like to introduce you to the official Riverfront Times gingerbread house. What makes the RFT version so special? Well, for one, it's covered in our logo but also, you can't tell from the photo, but our marzipan Santa is hammered.

We cheated a little and got ours pre-fab from La Patisserie Chouquette (1634 Tower Grove Avenue; 314-932-7935). For $25 you get the house already standing and a kit full of everything you need decoration-wise (in our case, peanut butter cups, Mr. Goodbar doors and an entire evening wasted cutting up old business cards not included).

Now we want to see what you've been working on.

We want as many submissions as we can get to feature on Gut Check -- the more St. Louis-centric the better. Snap some portraits of your handiwork and e-mail them to We'll post the best of the best next week.

(Oh and we should add -- although ours turned out pretty G-rated, don't let that influence you. If you build a gingerbread porn palace, we want to see it.)
