The wait is (almost) over: Mission Taco Joint will open its second location in Soulard at 908 Lafayette Avenue on Tuesday, August 12. We stopped by for a soft opening this weekend to check out the new digs.

Owners Adam and Jason Tilford teamed up once again with SPACE Architects to design the restaurant inside the historic Soulard building. The menu is the same as the original Delmar location, but it'll be able to serve people for whom University City is difficult to get to.

"I have a lot of friends that live in that area -- Soulard, Tower Grove, Benton Park -- they all tell me it's really difficult to get to Delmar. There's no real direct route," Adam Tilford told us last year. "The neighborhood itself also has a fun, young, urban feel which Mission lends itself to."

Starting August 12, Mission Taco Joint Soulard will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Check out some more pics of the space:
