Skip the Starbucks gift cards for people on your holiday gift list this year. There are many great options from local, independently owned restaurants that will delight even the foodie who has everything. (We bet they don't have biscuits from Juniper!) Continue on for our favorite gift options.

Piccione Pastry (6197 Delmar Boulevard; 314-932-1355)

The Loop's Italian bakery is offering Italian cookies in festive holiday packaging. It's perfect for that coworker with a sweet tooth. You'll get a pound and a half of assorted cookies in a gingerbread-house carrier for $12. Cookie options include raspberry thumbprint, Italian tricolor, holiday shortbread and more, along with sugar-free, gluten-free and vegan options. Delivery is also available in select areas.

Pi Pizzeria (400 North Euclid Avenue; 314-367-4300)

This pizza cutter has not one but two blades, allowing for maximum pizza division. Whoever you gift this to will be able to show off their St. Louis pride whenever they whip up a homemade pizza. It's available in red and black for $20 each. You can get them online here.

STL Wine Girl

A new service from Angela Ortmann, a.k.a. STL Wine Girl, combines the best of both worlds: home entertaining and a gourmet meal. Ortmann will serve a multiple-course meal complete with wine pairings in the comfort of your (or a friend's) home. You can purchase specific dates or a gift certificate. In-home dinners are $75 per person with a minimum of six guests, and Sunday suppers are $40 per person. There are also traveling events and different restaurants around town. You can purchase seats, tastings and gift certificates here.

Juniper (360 North Boyle Avenue; 314-329-7696)

Juniper launched its retail element, Gift Horse, back in September. Give any one (or several) of Juniper's housemade goodies, from biscuits, apple butter, pickles, ketchup and pound cake. The "Scout Bag" comes with all of the above for $45. Get it online here, at the restaurant or at Larder and Cupboard, along with more items from Gift Horse.

Kaldi's Coffee (700 DeMun Avenue, Clayton; 314-727-9955)

Kaldi's is offering two gift boxes this year that a coffee lover won't be able to pass up. The "'Tis the Season" box includes a twelve-ounce package of Kaldi's 'Tis the Season roast and two 2014 holiday mugs. The "Coffee Sampler" box includes an eight-ounce bag of a single-origin coffee, a five-ounce bag of Cafe Kaldi and a five-ounce bag of Kaldi's decaf. They come in gift-ready holiday boxes and can be shipped directly to the recipient. You can get them at Kaldi's locations or online here. The "'Tis the Season" box is $32.99 and the "Coffee Sampler" box is $18.99.
