May was a slow month for restaurant news in St. Louis -- in fact, the biggest news seemed to come in a burst at the end, with the long-awaited opening of The BBQ Saloon on May 28 and the shocking month's end announcements that Miss Leon's was closing (effective almost immediately) and The Good Pie would be shutting its doors (effective at the end of June).

Continue for May's openings and closings, and as always, let us know if we've missed anything in the comments. (Psst: Comments not working for you? We have a new system that requires you to log in via Facebook. We're crossing our fingers it won't prove too onerous.)

As for next month? It's already looking exciting -- remember, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams opens Thursday, with ice cream for all!
