St. Louis street artist Peat "EYEZ" Wollaeger has created another colorful, iconic stencil piece. This one can be seen at Casa del Mar, a Mexican restaurant in the Saint Louis Galleria.

The Webster Groves native has created stencil art all around the world. He lived in Chicago and New York before returning home to St. Louis. Some of his pieces, like this one, are known for their intricate details.

Others are recognizable because of their location and placement. "I love this city," Wollaeger tells Riverfront Times. "I spray for peace," he goes on, wearing a shirt with his logo integrated into the phrase "Peace Begins With You."

Wollaeger's "EYEZ" have become his signature, noting that "eyes are the window to your soul." Many of his works incorporate the eye in colorful repetitions, like this one:

Wollaeger believes art can improve neighborhoods and communities. "A prime example is City Museum. It birthed all of the redevelopment that happened down there." He says public art has the potential to beautify otherwise neglected neighborhoods.
