A charming plaza filled with Chinese businesses is getting a new tenant.

Cate Zone Chinese Cafe plans to fill the spot at 8148 Olive Boulevard that's nestled between China Town Market and Authentic Chinese Herbs & Acupuncture. The space previously held J&W Bakery, a family-owned Cantonese bakery that closed in August after more than a decade-long run.

Quincy Lin is the restaurateur behind the new spot. He said he would be serving traditional Chinese from the northeast part of the nation. The cuisine is known for its pickled and fermented items and use of wheat and corn instead of rice, although Lin said it was too early to discuss details of the menu.

"It's a different style of Chinese food with different flavors," he says.

Lin hopes to open within the next month or so. He said this was his first restaurant and that he moved here from Nevada three years ago.
