Jon Hamm has good taste.

The St. Louis-born movie star talked with Bon Appetit magazine in an interview published Thursday all about (drum roll)....his eating habits. We know, so exciting.

But while Hamm did indeed share details to be expected of a Hollywood heart-throb (he likes a "nice juice," potato chips are a rarity and he doesn't "eat like an idiot" on location), he was not too health-conscious to admit that he loves Ted Drewes. See, we knew he was still one of us!

The set-up came after all that healthy eating talk, when the magazine asked Hamm, star of forthcoming indie film Nostalgia, what food makes him nostalgic.

"This is gonna kind of go counter to everything that I've just said, but St. Louis has a very specific culinary tradition — we have this great stuff called frozen custard," Hamm replied. "There's a place called Ted Drewes in St. Louis, and it’s basically an ice cream store that’s been around for the better part of a hundred years. But it’s frozen custard, so there are even more calories in it. Danny Meyer included frozen custard in his Shake Shack menu, and Danny’s a St. Louis guy. We went to high school together. That’s probably the food that gets me going the most."

Frozen custard, Danny Meyer, high school — couldn't give a more St. Louis answer than that. And we love it.

Hamm also told the publication that he loves a donut every once in a while, and that he used to be able to down six at a time without a thought when he was a kid and played three sports. Hey, who can blame him with all of St. Louis' awesome donut shops?

At the end of the article, Bon Appetit apparently thought it would be helpful to include a recipe for something called Coconut-Chocolate Mousse, saying, "This mousse is a little healthier than frozen custard." To that, we have two things to say:

It's not the same. And we're only guessing, but we're pretty sure Jon Hamm would agree.
