St. Louis Restaurant Openings & Closings: February 2019

Farewell, Fairview Lounge. - MABEL SUEN
  • Farewell, Fairview Lounge.

It's been another month of change for St. Louis' restaurant scene, change that included several promising concepts closing. The only Peruvian restaurant in the Metro East, one that Cheryl Baehr raved about, has closed to become a Mexican buffet. The area's first Champagne bar has closed to become a more traditional cocktail bar. And the only restaurant in St. Louis serving the Shanghai-style crepes called jianbing is becoming Tasti-Tea. Sunrise, sunset.

Other changes? Vista Ramen's old digs are now Morning Glory Diner. Breakaway Cafe is back in business under new owners, and Kemoll's has reopened after leaving its high-flying downtown home for the suburbs. Oh, and did you hear about how L'Acadiane became Pop during dinner service, even as January became February? Yes, this was indeed an interesting month.

Check out our complete list below, and let us know in the comments section what we missed.
