Big Muddy Records leader/Alley Ghost member Chris Baricevic has released an official statement on behalf of Bob Reuter and his band. Reuter evidently named Baricevic as executor of his estate in his will. A service to honor Reuter's life and art is in the planning stages, and a memorial fund will be set up to help offset the cost associated with the undertaking. Any leftover funds will be used to establish a foundation for disadvantaged artists.

Reuter's book publisher, Saint Louis Projects, is already working to raise money for that fund, offering preorders for a second run of the late musician's book, Tales of a Talking Dog. You can order your copy here. All proceeds will be donated to Reuter's estate.

The band's full statement can be read below.

On behalf of Bob and the band:

I would like to thank everybody for the overwhelming amount of support and positivity that has been flowing in over the past couple of days. The words and love and company would thrill Bob to no end.

It is important that everybody knows that Bob and his work are being taken care of. Bob had a will that named me executor to his estate and protects his belongings and his intellectual property. His personal things have been gathered and are safe. His work is secure.

There will be a service to honor Bob's life and work. It is in the planning stages. I thank you for your patience as we sort through this.

There will also be a memorial fund set up to offset costs. Additional money will be used to begin building a foundation for disadvantaged artists. This is not yet fleshed out and again, I thank you for your patience. If you are interested in giving any money towards this please contact me directly.

And further questions or concerns should be addressed directly towards myself. I will be overseeing every step of the process with Bob's best interest in heart and mind.

Again, thank you all for the love and support. Words fail at this moment, especially as the responsibilities begin to roll out. But please know that in these trying times, the best is brought out in the world. Let's stay positive. Let's focus on the important things - the beauty that was put into the world by a man and his work. And the people that we have to help us through not only this time of difficulty, but all hardship and pain.

We have love, we have each other, and we have art.

We love you Bob, and you are missed.

Please spread this around to any parties that are involved. Bob reached a lot of people and I want to make sure everybody knows what is going on.
