So, I wrote about An Under Cover Weekend in this week's RFT, but I went last night -- and holy cow, was it fun. And impressive. Mike Tomko sends the following along -- although he neglects to mention Heroes of the Kingdom's faithful costumes, the Hibernauts' British stage banter (Jack Stevens, in character, on the no-smoking policy at Off Broadway: "Back in my day, we could smoke in the mater-nity ward!"), Mario's bloody-nose-inducing Petty imitation and Shame Club destroying the eardrums of everyone in attendance, thanks to dual Marshall stacks. Yowza.
In all seriousness, head on down tonight. It was just a lot of fun.
Tomko says:
For all of you who missed the first night of An Under Cover Weekend, you seriously missed out on some amazing St. Louis bands paying homage to some of the best bands of all time!

The Hibernauts left the Intergalactic to Robb Steele and slayed a tight set of everyone's favorite Kinks' tunes!
Heroes of The Kingdom kept things hot with a blistering revue of the iconoclastic Cheap Trick!
The Sex Robots made it their duty to take the bar and raise it even further with their raucous double-timed take on Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers!
In true Shame Club fashion, the LOUDEST BAND IN ST. LOUIS closed out the night with an earth shaking note for note, wail for wail, rendition of classic Deep Purple!
Night number 2 is poised to be just as ridiculous of an STL Party! Get your ass down there by 9pm to catch all of the action...
