Local band Foxing is on a roll -- and something tells us that the group won't remain a St. Louis secret much longer.

On July 2 national pop-culture giant the AV Club premiered Foxing's video for "The Medic," yet another superb song from the group's 2013 debut album The Albatross. The video details what appears to be an emotionally distant couple's surreal experience in a cabin -- one that involves snow, roses sprouting from the bed and a very bloody nose.

Foxing tells AV Club that the band scripted and produced the video itself.

"We had been tossing around conceptual ideas for the video while on the road earlier in the year, [and] when we got home I wrote out a more detailed treatment," says Coll, who notes that the video's rustic setting is the product of being shot in a cabin that was once the home of General William Tecumseh Sherman.

The AV Club is just the latest big-name entertainment mecca to notice Foxing's talent. In December the band earned major kudos from the Huffington Post, nabbing a spot on writer Todd Cochran's list, "The Best Albums of 2013 (That You Probably Haven't Already Heard)." In June, Foxing also took home the 2014 RFT Music Award for best emo/post-hardcore band.

The good news keeps coming for Foxing. In April the band signed to Triple Crown Records, home to a wide array of acts over the years ranging from the ultra-tough hardcore of Death Threat to bands like the Dear Hunter, and even Brand New's debut LP, Your Favorite Weapon. Upon the deal, Triple Crown remastered Foxing's The Albatross, "which sees the album's various layers pulled apart, making the album feel new again," says the AV Club.

Foxing is preparing to tour later this month with the Hotelier, Prawn and Little Big League. The band's Facebook page also promises a show at the Firebird on September 16 with Mineral and Into It. Over It., though that date doesn't appear to be part of Foxing's official summer tour. Find the latest news on Foxing's Facebook page.
