With apologies to the late, great Material Issue, this triple bill is nothing short of a pop overthrow. October Fall's piano-heavy tunes aren't quite emo, but they aren't typical top 40 fodder either which makes sense, seeing as how they've toured with the Click Five and are signed to Decaydance, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz's label. South Carolina's NEEDTOBREATHE recorded their full-length debut, Daylight, in England, a move that gave the quartet's music a harder edge (think Sister Hazel) and hints of heavy soul. And Big City Rock sounds like the Killers medicated by heavy doses of Bon Jovi, although in concert they're quite the flamboyant performers.
