Jeff Rosenstock, the figurehead of Bomb the Music Industry! and Quote Unquote Records has become a DIY icon in the Internet age, a digitally remastered Ian MacKaye. BTMI! began with Rosenstock recording grating electro-ska tracks on his computer's built-in microphone. Today, it is an unpredictable touring circus with Rosenstock ring-leading a makeshift band of veterans from Mustard Plug and Big D and the Kids Table and, occasionally, kids who appear at venues with instruments and swear they know the songs. With Quote Unquote, Rosenstock pioneered the pay-what-you-want download model years before Radiohead; with BTMI! he brings interactivity into the analog domain. It's punk v2.0 (beta).
Bring: A Red Bull to pound in the parking lot, a camera for your inevitable Twitpics and a saxophone to temporarily join the band.
