Dar Williams became the queen of therapy-cathartic granola folk soon after she released her 1993 debut album, The Honesty Room. Her new CD, My Better Self, is certainly no stranger to self-examination (check out the excellent "I'll Miss You Till I Meet You," about finding the silver lining in being single). But nestled between gentle rockers that split the difference between Suzanne Vega and Aimee Mann are engaging collaborations with Marshall Crenshaw, Soulive and Ani DiFranco.
