Decibully

Thursday, October 13; Creepy Crawl (412 North Tucker Boulevard)

William Seidel and Ryan Weber may have cut their teeth with emo pioneers Camden and the Promise Ring, but Decibully isn't strictly for the thick-rimmed-glasses set. Combining elements of indie rock, alt-country and Americana, the seven-piece collective's third full-length, Sing Out America!, is both unique and reassuringly familiar. Banjo and pedal steel mingle freely with lush pop melodies on "Rid of Me at Last," while a rich, Pet Sounds-esque choir marks the captivating "Temptation." Despite their impressive pedigree, Decibully are impossible to categorize -- and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 13. Tickets are $10; call 314-621-9333 for more information.
