Disturbed

The cover of Disturbed's latest album, Indestructible, pretty much says it all: A fanged, chained and ripped beast emerges from a forest of flames, grinning wildly at his survival. Go ahead and knock the Chicago rockers for their angst-ridden throwbacks, but they've hit on a formula of equal parts late-'90s rage-rock and new-millennium afterglow that's served them well a decade into their career. Indestructible debuted at No. 1 when it was released earlier this year, and on songs like "Perfect Insanity" and the title cut, Disturbed's fist-raising anthems sound way more durable than they did on 2005's mainstream-hugging Ten Thousand Fists. Like the fire-saturated creature on the CD cover, there's plenty of fight left in this band.
