Sultry trip-hoppers, dirty punk rockers, electronica junkies and indie-rock geeks will all share the dance floor in harmony on Wednesday night. What's the occasion? Are people still stoked that the most recent Star Wars movie was actually good? Has Dubya been impeached? Have our leaders finally decided upon free healthcare for all? No, friends, it's much more simple than that: Enon is coming to town. The Brooklyn trio's principal songwriters, John Schmersal (ex-Brainiac) and Toko Yasuda (ex-Blonde Redhead), have no problem mixing smooth, danceable grooves and ragged, jagged indie rock into a cocktail that's sexy and raucous all at once. Its latest release, Lost Marbles and Exploded Evidence, is all the proof you need. Despite the fact that it compiles hard-to-find singles, Web downloads and music videos from the band's different lineups over the past several years, it's a consistently good release that maintains an even keel throughout. With the perfect mix of electronica, beats and the almighty guitar, Enon is sure to please everyone.
