St. Louis and Kansas City should be easy to tell apart. One is a Midwestern city with a massive Arch and no football team. The other one is right next to Kansas.
But last night, the two cities apparently blended in the mind of Travis Scott, who concluded his show at the Kansas City Sprint Center with a heartfelt expression of appreciation for .... St. Louis.
"Good night St. Louis, I love you," said the rapper.

For Scott, who easily outshone Maroon 5 at this year's Super Bowl, it wasn't the greatest farewell. In his defense, however, the rapper's Astroworld tour is playing St. Louis tonight at the Enterprise Center. Perhaps the musician's travel-weary memory simply hiccuped, swapping Sunday's tour stop with Monday's.
The same mitigating logic could not be applied to the last major figure to flub the names of Missouri's two largest cities.
In December, during a speech at the Project Safe Neighborhoods National Conference, President Donald Trump praised James Clark of Better Family Life for the organization's work — it was work, the president said, that took place "right here in St. Louis."
Clark, of course, does work here in St. Louis. But Trump was in Kansas City.
Incidentally, it wasn't the first time Trump got his flummoxed over our particulars: During his one and only St. Louis rally in 2016, the candidate began by praising our, yes, football team. At least Travis Scott only messed up the two Missouri cities once .... and is only trying to keep up with a Kardashian, not lead the nation.
