Last week Tef Poe wrote a powerful piece on Paula Deen's recent fall from grace, in which he made the argument that racist people should own up to their racism and stand by it, thereby setting up an honest platform for discussion of the subject. "I actually respect and admire real-life full-blown racists who live it and talk it," he says in the article. "I'm an extremist, so if you're going to be a racist I figure you might as well be a full-time, fully dedicated champion of the cause." With over 170 comments, the discussion on the RFT Music blog was immediate and extensive, but it didn't end there.

On Thursday KMOV had Tef on its early-afternoon program Great Day St. Louis, alongside Karen Aroesty, the Regional Director of the Anti-Defamation League. The ten-minute piece, entitled "Let's Discuss Racism," is a thought-provoking analysis of this line of thinking. You can watch that below.

Tef was also interviewed by NPR this week, and the article was one of the subjects that was broached. That piece has not yet aired; we will let you know when it does.

Again, here is the article in question. Do you agree with Tef's stance on the matter? Are you sick of hearing about Paula Deen yet? Take it to the comments; you will find plenty of opinions on this subject there.
