In 1983, power-pop legends XTC -- performing under the moniker the Three Wise Men -- released "Thanks for Christmas." (We gave you the history last year.) Four years before that, Squeeze released the single "Christmas Day." Shockingly, it didn't chart! Thirty years later, the song -- a pastiche of funky new-wave programming and synths, skiffling rhythms and heartfelt piano -- still sounds like a shoulda-been classic.
