The crunchy, snotty, breakneck pop-punk made famous by bands such as the Descendents and the Dead Milkmen is reborn in the metro East quartet Resoldered. For everyone who grudgingly admits that those first two Blink-182 records were actually pretty righteous, Resoldered's more loudfastrawk moments will revive your dormant pogo-dancing tendencies. "You Failed Me" kicks off the disc like a starter's pistol, a quick, strident kiss-off that makes its mark in less than two minutes.

At times on Everybody in Between, bits of Social Distortion's rockabilly-studded twang sneak through in Jason Hodge's vocals. He's at his best when the band gives him a propulsive kick with fuzzy three-chord punk progressions and locked-in rhythms. "Solder Me" nails this formula with bright, popping drums and an anthemic proclamation of the song's title, which, when sung, sounds an awful lot like "sodomy." Crude joke or double entendre? Either way, it works for the song.

Drummer Paul Sanders punctuates these songs aptly with snare cracks and pneumatic bass drum thumps, but he can be a bit too busy in places for the simple, straight-ahead songs. Likewise, guitarist Dave Kauzlarich slathers on the fuzz thick and strong with some buzz-saw licks, but too often his slab-like tone could use some sonic tweaking. On "Ugly Face," a slower tempo leads the band into blasé modern-rock territory, and the chunky, metal-edged riffs don't pierce the skin like the punk-rock brickbats do elsewhere on the disc.
