The spirit of collaboration is rising in St. Louis. This week, meet the newest creative epicenter in the city: FarFetched. De facto leader and spokesman Damon Davis (of Scripts N Screwz) has helped gather a diverse group of wide-ranging talent across multiple mediums -- though music remains the focus. "We are a collective of passionate artists that believe music and art are not disposable commodities, and that true innovation and expression are still important and deserve to be created and shared with the world," says Davis. The group will specialize in digital releases -- he says the goal is, "to release well-crafted albums and mind-blowing artwork and videos."
FarFetched exists at this moment mostly as a website powered by Tumblr. On it, you can find a hint of what's to come -- new music from St. Louis artists like Ra Cailum, original and re-blogged artwork and more. The aesthetic is taking shape.
Davis says the group plans to release a series of albums starting in early 2012 -- many of them are already complete. A final roster has not yet been announced, and there will be a debut showcase around February. Keep an eye out for more details on that and plenty more as the collective takes shape. What we can tell you right now is that there is a hefty collection of forward-thinkers and experienced artists on board.
