Jonathan Edwards understands that the two minutes and seventeen seconds of fame behind a hit like "Sunshine" is no way to build a career. The tonky-tonk stardust cowboy, as he named his second album, has remained a compelling troubadour, matching peers like Don McLean and Tom Rush note for folkie note. His vocal and instrumental chops have always been sharp, and while Edwards has never known much commercial success beyond the insidiously catchy "Sunshine," his forthcoming studio album, My Love Will Keep, marks the 40th anniversary of that hit with similarly easy-going folk and bluegrass and a clutch of diverse covers. His weathered but still supple tenor somehow manages to refresh them all.
