KDHX Launches Kickstarter for New Venue Space, "The Stage at KDHX"

KDHX (88.1 FM), St. Louis' premiere (and only) independent radio station, has launched a Kickstarter campaign as of today to help raise money to build a venue space in the new home it is building in the heart of Grand Center, at the Larry J. Weir Center for Independent Media.

The station's new location promises to feature new studios as well as the venue, dubbed "The Stage at KDHX." The space will seat 125 people, and based on the artist renderings the good people at the station sent over to us, it is going to look pretty damned classy. Check it out:

Swanky, right? They are just computer renderings for now, but I could see my Sims family having a fantastic time at this place. And when the money is raised to make the space a reality, I'm positive I will see the St. Louis music family doing so.

Here's a chunk of the press release on the project:

The Stage at KDHX will present your favorite established and up-and-coming independent artists in an intimate, 125-seat listening room experience. It's a chance to experience live music with a group that has been bringing you the best in live, DJ-driven radio for over 25 years. The Stage at KDHX will be a space for us to create innovative programming, just as we've done on-air for the past quarter-century. We'll host concerts to showcase amazing musical talent in ways that you won't be able to find anywhere else.

Kickstarter incentives range from an on-stage "thank you" for $10 to t-shirts, concert tickets, tote bags and all the way up to the naming of a green room in your honor, if you have the extra $10,000 to spare.

Give generously! KDHX is a St. Louis music institution 25 years-strong, and its move is one of the more exciting things happening in town right now. This is your chance to be a part!
