Kem/Ledisi/Musiq Soulchild

8 p.m. Saturday, March 5. The Fox Theatre, 527 North Grand Boulevard.

Kem/Ledisi/Musiq Soulchild

$39.50 to $59.50. 314-534-1111.

Kem's brand of R&B — smooth, reverent and spiritual — has always been more concerned with moving hearts than moving hips. His 2003 debut, Kemistry, stood alone in the pack of early '00s urban crooners; he was too slick for neo-soul and too much of a sweet-voiced gentleman for low-down R&B jams. Kem remains in his own carved-out niche on last year's Intimacy: Album III, where slow meditations such as "Love Never Fails" exist alongside more uptempo numbers, such as the Al Jarreau-esque "Golden Days." Kem will be joined by the gospel-bred diva Ledisi and the soul-groove maestro Musiq Soulchild. The latter replaces El DeBarge, who recently dropped off the tour to enter rehab.
