Local Benefit Concerts for Haiti In the Works

Jan 13, 2010 at 4:00 pm

I'd be remiss today if I didn't mention the absolute devastation in Haiti, caused by the 7.0 earthquake that rocked the country yesterday. Over at Gut Check, Ian noted that Pi is donating 10% of today's sales to the Red Cross relief efforts. Naturally, the local music community is also gathering together to help raise much-needed funds.

*On Friday, January 22, the Billiken Club will be hosting a JamFest for Haiti Benefit Concert, with Cameron Matthews, Bear Ceuse, Tim Session and Hither & Yon. Further details are available on a Facebook event page (can anyone send me the link, please?)

*On a date to-be-determined, local producer Tech Supreme will be coordinating a benefit at Atomic Cowboy, featuring Vandalyzm, Tef Poe, Corey Black, Teresa Jenee and Black Spade. More details to be announced as they're known.

If you know of any others in the works -- or are planning one yourself -- leave a comment or email me.
