Local Motion, Thursday, 9/28

I'll be at the Roman Numerals/Bureau/Ghost in Light show at the Schlafly Tap Room (2100 Locust Street; 314-241-2337), which I wrote about here, although there's plenty else going on if those bands aren't your cup of tea.

The Way Out Club (2525 South Jefferson Avenue; 314-664-7638) hosts New Orleans' Suplecs with local openers the Spark Thugs (a.k.a. the 2006 winners of "Best Band Name"), who are quite the up-and-coming stoner-rockers in the area, judging by the full-length they so kindly mailed to me. Seriously, I gave it a spin and definitely think they're one to watch if you're into Queens of the Stone Age, etc.

Oh, and Chippewa Chapel Traveling Guitar Circle and Medicine Show (see "Best Open-Mic Night") can be found at Stella Blues (3269 Morganford; 314-772-3533) tonight at 9 p.m. Story on 'em is coming, I swear. -Annie Zaleski
