MC Lars' upcoming full-length, The Graduate, has nothing to do with Dustin Hoffman or Jesus loving anyone more than they will ever know, whoa-whoa-whoa. It does, however, feature appearances by the Matches and Bowling for Soup and contains fourteen blistering diatribes against mass-marketed racial stereotypes, escalating record-industry greed and the prevalence of mallpunk culture. (Shout it with me: "Hello Kitty iPod cases! Are not punk rock! Slipknot binder paper! Is not punk rock!") Between gigs in Dublin and New York City, the comic-strip illustrator, Sirius satellite-radio host and DIY proprietor of his own label, Horris Records, moves minds and bodies as part of KWUR (90.3 FM) Week via his socially aware, post-punk hip-hop.
