New Britney Spears song -- "Gimme More"

Before I hit the road, I have to share a link to the new Britney Spears song, "Gimme More."

Stream it here.

In short, it's amazing. The vocals aren't necessarily super identifable as Brit -- although the breathy delivery and her flirty giggling gives it away, as does the opening intro of "It's Britney, bitch!" and some heavy panting in the middle -- but the seedy-electro/'80s-dancefloor vibe is completely addictive and red-hot, like a Nintendo seducing you with its come-hither 8-bit-programming chirps.

Unsurprisingly, this site reports that the producer responsible for it is Nate “Danjahandz” Hills, who worked with Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake -- which makes sense, because the song has quite a bit in common sonically with recent works by those two pop stars. I also hear hints of Real Life's "Send Me an Angel" and some of Talk Talk's "It's My Life"-era synthwork as well, for good measure.

Viva la pop music!
