New Ciara Thompson Music Video Features St. Louis in a Starring Role

Indulge in some loving local vibes today and check out the latest from French soul band the Buttshakers. Though she's currently based in Lyon, singer Ciara Thompson is a St. Louis expat. And judging by the tone of this video, Thompson still carries a big love for the city in her heart.

Made by notable St. Louis film director Bill Streeter of Hydraulic Pictures, the video for "In The City" illustrates the message of the song while highlighting larger societal issues by focusing on the strength, resilience and beauty of our local inhabitants.

There is something poetic to the way that the video was shot. It features neighborhoods that thrive on community (Cherokee Street, the Delmar Loop, Ferguson, etc.) and a selection of inhabitants who glow when they stand tall, not unshakable but still undefeated.
