(Thanks for my R.E.M. dork homey Michael Gallucci in Cleveland, for pointing me to Pitchfork and Stereogum.)
Well? I'm glad to hear prominent Mike Mills vocals and bright, copper-penny Peter Buck guitars. I'm not quite sure at all what the lyrics are talking about at all just yet -- but then again, it's no "leaving was never my proud" (as the chorus of "Leaving New York" painfully went), and Michael Stipe rhymes "humiliation" with "station," so that's a plus. (And I've never been a huge R.E.M. lyrical analyzer anyway, I prefer the mystery.)
Anyway. Yeah. Thoughts?
