A few weeks ago, OK Go released a video for its new song, "This Too Shall Pass." The clip's premise involves a Rube Goldberg machine -- the complex (and often whimsical) cause-and-effect contraptions where one movement affects every other movement, and at the end this series of events causes something to happen. In honor of this video, OK Go is giving away a pair of tickets to every show it's playing -- including, insanely enough, the festivals Bonnaroo and Sasquatch! -- for fans who make and film a Rube Goldberg machine that spells out "OK Go." All of the contest details are right here; we'll blog the winner for the band's April 18 St. Louis show, once it's chosen! (H/T Old Rock House's Twitter for the info.)
Tons of show cancellations to report this week. Stoner stalwarts Nebula are not playing at the Firebird this Friday night, because they broke up last month. The Willowz and Lionize are still on the bill, however. The April 8 Margot & the Nuclear So & So's show was also scotched a few weeks ago. And at the Old Rock House, Australian folk upstarts the Middle East will not be playing on Monday, April 5. Their show was also nixed.
