Play Google's Les Paul Logo: Win a Copy of Rockabilly: The Twang Heard 'Round the World [Update with Winner]

UPDATE: Cory Hart congratulations! Email me at kiernan dot maletsky at riverfronttimes dot com to claim your book.

Been to the Google home page today? It would have been Les Paul's 96th birthday, and to celebrate, the logo has been turned into a sort of guitar you can play by moving your cursor over the strings. You can record your noodlings with a click on that black button, and Google gives you a URL of your masterwork.

We think this is a pretty awesome tribute, so we thought we'd give you a little incentive to play: A brand new, hardcover copy of the new book Rockabilly: The Twang Heard 'Round the World goes to whoever posts the best Les Paul Google Doodle in the comments.

The book, which just came out a couple weeks ago, features contributions from Griel Marcus, Peter Guralnick, Luc Sante and more, and interviews with the likes of Wanda Jackson and Carl Perkins.

So, again, paste the url to your Google Les Paul recording in the comments below and you could win this book:

We'll close the contest tonight whenever the logo switches back, and announce a winner tomorrow.
