Goodbye, P.T.'s Classic — and hello, Black Magic.

The Brooklyn, Illinois, strip club that aspired to the feeling of a "old-time gentleman's club" closed its doors last week. It plans to reopen October 27 as Black Magic, an "urban" club catering to black customers.

Rich Westerheide, the area director for P.T.'s, says the new concept is the first of its kind for the club's owners, who own seventeen strip clubs across the country.

"It's something we've been thinking about for some time," he says. "We decided to give a try and jump into that market. I'm really excited about the whole concept."

The club will be 21-and-up and open only in the evenings — the doors will open Tuesday through Sunday at 8 p.m., with the party going until 5 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. On Sundays, they'll close at 4 a.m.

Westerheide said the club would be holding a casting call at 7 p.m. on October 20. Currently, extensive renovations are underway inside.

The plan is to hold a soft opening on Thursday, October 27, with a grand opening on October 28.

Times have been hard on the gentlemen's club scene of late. A few months ago, the RFT reported that PT Classic's sister club, Roxy's, had reduced its hours. Its owners blamed in part increased competition from Ballpark Village, with revelers more likely to stay downtown than cross into Illinois.
