Even if you don't know Gerry Rafferty's name, you certainly know his work: the solo hit "Baker Street" and "Stuck In the Middle," a big hit for the group he co-founded, Stealers Wheel. Rafferty died yesterday "after a long illness," according to the Guardian. He was 63. Rafferty struggled with severe alcohol problems over the years, but released an album, Life Goes On, in 2009. "Baker Street" remained his calling card, however; the Guardian reported that he still earned over £80,000 a year from the song, even recently. The original -- and the Foo Fighters' stellar cover the song -- below.
