Ruka Puff's Birthday Bash: Going On Now!

Jun 4, 2008 at 9:37 pm

If anyone knows how to throw a party, it’s Ruka Puff, the man who has performed in, among other places, a McDonald’s parking lot, prefers his clothing to in shades of neon, and has a haircut that would make Kimbo Slice blush. When A to Z heard that Puff is hosting a hip-hop ho-down in the hood in honor of his birthday tonight at Club 314 on St. Charles Rock Road, we sent RFT reporter Keegan Hamilton to find out what we can expect from the rotund rapper and his crew the Supreme Team.

What and where is Club 314? Inside the EconoLodge hotel on St. Charles Rock Road. It’s been there for about three or four years. Anybody else performing? Everybody in St. Louis. It’s like 20 people.

Why should people come to your birthday party? What do you have to offer? Women, entertainment, liquor, and me. You should see my outfit. Come see my hoochie shoes with the matching bag.

How old are you? I’ll be 27.

Will there be cake? Yup and food.

If someone wants to bring you presents, what’s on your wishlist? Let’s see, I don’t know. I guess money.

You’re billing it as a whole week of Ruka Puff—what’s that mean? We gonna have events the whole week, be in Atlanta on Monday, then performing again, another Springfield on June 8 on that Sunday. I’ve just been travelin’ and tourin’ and getting my grind on.
