Derek Yeager will join Sine Nomine for one final show February 6.

When we spoke to Derek Yeager in September, he had just released Nausicaa Sound, a compilation in collaboration with the global Juke and Footwork communities. Now Yeager is returning to Sine Nomine, his metalcore group formed in the late '90s. In 2013, he put the band on hold to focus on writing and producing electronic music under the name D-M-Y. The change wasn't entirely his choice -- as it turns out, sixteen years of guitar shredding doesn't help with carpal tunnel syndrome.

Regardless, Sine Nomine will return for one final show on February 6 alongside Rusted Skin, As Earth Shatters and Wings of the Morning at The Firebird. While Yeager is set to reprise his role as vocalist, Chris Stanton of Everything Went Black will fill in on lead guitar. The announcement was made over Facebook last week:

This isn't the first time Sine Nomine has gone on hiatus. In the mid-aughts, The band went dark for roughly three years only to return with two consecutive albums, Super Molecular Dust Separator and Golobulus, the latter being released on the same night as Game 6 of the 2011 World Series. The recent announcement does say "last show ever," which obviously notes the band's intention to never play again.

Follow Sine Nomine through its Facebook page or listen to its full discography through Bandcamp. Yeager now writes and performs under D-M-Y, which can be found on Soundcloud.

Sine Nomine w/ Rusted Skin, As Earth Shatters, Wings of the Morning Friday, February 6 The Firebird 8 p.m. | $8/$10
